Cottages Holywell Bay, the New Year

Getting towards the end of January now. Spring is just around the corner here at Holywell Bay in Cornwall. The early daffodils are now in full bloom in the gardens of the cottages as well as the fields, a reminder that Easter will be with us soon. The pickers are in the fields so if you buy Cornish Daffs they may well have come from near us.

With the spring comes the spring cleaning. We are just about to start on the holiday bungalows and cottages at the Meadow, it hardly seems last season is over, the seasons go round so quickly. We ‘re hoping for some dry weather it always makes the work easier as when its bad you sometimes take more dirt in to the accommodation on your feet than you take out

Not a lot new going on this summer. We hope to have a large wood cabin and relaxation room finished in the garden at Langarrow holiday bungalow

before the start of the season at the moment we are working on the veranda. We are just trying to decide on whether to make it into a bar or games room.

I don’t know if it’s  the effect of Brexit or last year’s wonderful summer but our cottages and bungalows are beginning to book up quite quickly now especially  the school holidays. If you are thinking of having a self catering holiday in Cornwall this year I would advise you to get in touch as soon as you can particularly if you need specific dates.

The wind has been quite sharp lately and the waves on the beach have not been at their best. But this does not seem to deter the surfers, they seem to be in the sea in all weathers and all times of day, what a difference modern wetsuit technology has made.
